Information Security, An Overview

In this course, students will explore the fundamentals of information security. They will learn how to protect personal and professional data while gaining a deeper understanding of cyber threats and best practices for online safety.
Prerequisites: A minimum grade of C- in CMPT 101.
CYCS 300
Introduction To Cyber Risk Management
3 Credits Weekly (3-0-0)
Students will learn to value cyber and network assets in terms of Confidentiality, Availability, and Integrity (CIA) and gauge the likelihood of a cyber attack that removes or diminishes one or more of CIA. Students will practice combining these types of analysis to recommend cyber risk management courses of action, including business continuity.
Prerequisites: A minimum grade of C- in CYCS 200 or CMPT 280.
