The Faculty of Arts and Science is home to the Humanities, Social Sciences, and Natural Sciences at MacEwan University. We are comprised of over 200 full-time faculty members and serve some 6,000 students. Our faculty members belong across nine academic departments: Anthropology, Economics, and Political Science; Biological Sciences; Computer Science; English; Humanities; Mathematics and Statistics; Physical Sciences; Psychology; and, Sociology. We are a large and diverse Faculty offering a wealth of perspectives and our students benefit from being able to choose from a wide selection of majors, minors, and courses. Our faculty members take our institutional mandate as a Teaching University seriously and model excellence in teaching in the classroom, lab, and in student mentorship. The majority of our faculty members are also active scholars, pursuing a variety of research, scholarship, and creative work.
