Gender Studies Minor

Overview

Gender studies explores how history, colonialism, the media, and other social institutions create and normalize gendered and sexual identities. Students study how gender, sexuality, and their intersections link to big issues of our time, including poverty, violence, health, and social inequality.

The Gender Studies Minor is available to students in eligible degree programs and requires 18 senior-level credits, including a minimum of 6 credits at the 300- or 400-level.

To maintain the interdisciplinary nature of the minor, no more than 2 courses from a single discipline or 3 GEND courses may be applied toward the minor.
