Earth and Planetary Sciences Minor

Earth and Planetary Sciences is an interdisciplinary minor where students use chemistry, physics, and biology to gain a deeper understanding of the Earth, its hydrosphere, and the solar system. Students learn about geology, mineralogy, soil science, and water-rock interactions. They also use the latest technology and equipment to understand what’s happening billions of miles away.

The Earth and Planetary Sciences Minor is available to students in eligible degree programs. All students in the minor must complete the prerequisite courses EASC 101 and EASC 102. In addition, students in the Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science must complete 18 credits in senior-level EASC courses, including a minimum of 6 credits at the 300- or 400-level. Students in other degree programs may use either EASC 101 or EASC 102 in place of one 300- or 400-level EASC course and therefore must complete at least 15 credits in senior-level courses, including a minimum of 3 credits at the 300- or 400-level.
