Business Intelligence Minor
Developed in close consultation with the Industry, the Minor in Business Intelligence positions MacEwan graduates for success in the world of data-driven decisions by bringing together the pillars of Data, Information, Knowledge, and Communication.
The minor has several unique features, including a cross-listed course with Psychology and Business in Computational Thinking and a pedagogy emulating work-integrated learning where students work with projects under realistic scenarios.
Beyond developing strong analytical capacity, the focus is to further students’ fluency in integrated oral and written communication. Immersion in realistic project scenarios builds students’ proficiency in asking the right questions, identifying the essential pieces of information, and acquiring resilience in dealing with uncertainty. The curriculum stresses students’ ability to become self-learners.
The Business Intelligence minor is an attractive accompaniment to all majors. It helps students to become work-ready and enterprising professionals equipped with solid analytical and communication skills prepared to make tangible contributions to any organization.
This program is not available to students outside the Triffo School of Business.
