Songwriting Minor
For Bachelor of Music
The Songwriting minor is unique in Canada. This minor recognizes the specialized needs of the songwriter in today's and tomorrow's creative industry, and presents an innovative Program of Study that integrates all aspects of the art and craft of songwriting, including creation, performance, recording and production, and business and marketing.
The Songwriting minor is competitive, and students apply during their first year of the Bachelor of Music. In addition to the common core courses students will take in their first year, the minor follows a prescribed program of study, and students choose from music options and non-music electives to customize their program.
