Creative Writing Minor
For Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science
Fiction, creative non-fiction, poetry, script writing — whatever students like to write, they can develop skills, practice the craft of writing and experience the joy of creativity with the creative writing minor.
In this minor, students develop and strengthen their writing style by examining the relationship between form and content, the theory and practice of composition, and the processes of revision. In workshops, they test their perceptions against the great writers of the past and present and those of fellow students. Students emerge with tools to express ideas in creative, captivating ways.
The Creative Writing Minor requires 18 senior-level credits with a minimum of six credits at the 300- or 400-level.
Six credits of junior-level ENGL are required for this minor (not including ENGL 111 or ENGL 211).
Note: Courses cannot be used to fulfil the requirements of both the Creative Writing minor and the English major, Honours, or minor.
