Accounting Minor

Good accounting supports good decision making.  With this minor, students learn how financial information is generated, how it is processed and what it means. Explore concepts such as taxation, auditing and assurance and develop the knowledge and professional judgement needed to gather, analyze and communicate financial information.

Accounting is a crucial aspect of every business and organization. A minor in this discipline sets students on a career path with promise in the private, public or non-profit sector.

Total credits required for minor – 18 senior-level credits.

A minimum of six credits must be completed at the 300- or 400-level.

Students must complete prerequisite courses ECON 101, one of STAT 151 or STAT 161, and potentially STAT 252 depending on the chosen electives.
